Ultra 4 and King of the Hammers Race Team
Carbon Motorsports is a Colorado based racing team currently competing in Ultra4, King of the Hammers, and national level Karting. Carbon Motorsports was founded by our team driver, Ian Koentges in 2018 as the culmination of a 10 year goal to race in the Ultra4 series. Ian grew up in Colorado racing shifter karts with his father but always had a bug for off roading. After attending King of the Hammers in 2010 as a spectator, he was hooked and began working towards the new goal of one day racing in the largest off road race in the United States. In 2018, Ian purchased a Jimmys 4x4 Podium buggy and worked with longtime friend and Co-Driver Tase Flores to take it from trail buggy to full fledged Ultra4 car. The team now has built a new Jimmy’s 4x4 IFS Car to field for the 2020 Season and Beyond.
